This rail-trail opened its first 6 miles in July 2025 with construction to start on the remaining 13 miles in 2026. The trail meaners along the French Broad river and connects the towns of Hendersonville and Brevard. Access to the trail is available at the back of the RV Park.
Comprised of over 500,000 acres, Pisgah Forest is primarily a hardwood forest with whitewater rivers, waterfalls and hundreds of miles of trails. This national forest is home of the first school of forestry in the United States, now preserved at the Cradle of Forestry only 30 minutes from the campground.
DuPont State Forest is only 15 minutes from the campground. With its many waterfalls and 86 miles of trails on 10,400 acres. You must see the three major waterfalls (Hooker, Triple, and High Falls), and bring back your memories of movies such as The Hunger Games and Last of the Mohicans that were shot there. DuPont contains some of the south's best mountain biking and horseback riding areas.
Biltmore House is a Châteauesque-style mansion built between 1889 and 1895 and is the largest privately owned house in the United States. It remains one of the most prominent examples of Gilded Age mansions. The house and gardens are a short 17 miles from Maddox Meadows.
Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina, has a robust season of broadway shows and family favorites running from May through December. A show at the theatre is a perfect way to bookend a stroll through downtown Hendersonville with a memorable lunch or dinner.
Brevard, NC is surrounded by the beauty of our Blue Ridge Mountains. Getting outside is the best way to experience it! With more than a hundred thousand acres of public land and 250 waterfalls to explore, there are plenty of places to sightsee, bike, hike, and fish!
Hendersonville is one of the most beautiful, pedestrian-friendly downtowns in the country! With family activities, a thriving culinary scene and a collection of wineries, breweries, and cideries that comprise the popular Cheers! Trail. All within a 10 minute drive of the RV Park.
